Oreo Bon Bons

If you are looking for the Mcklinky picture post it is the one under this. I had a friend who needed a recipe! While you are here you might as well take a look and make some too! Seriously, the best get fat quick food ever!lol

Thanks :)

This is for you Samantha!!! lol

Buy: 1 pack oreos, 1 package (8oz) cream cheese, white and or chocolate almond bark.

Do: Crush whole package of oreos semi fine, mix with warm cream cheese (like 30sec in microwave). Roll into balls and put on wax paper. Freeze about 30-45 minutes. Melt chocolate (using both white and chocolate is best) in microwave followin directions on package (hint: add a little crisco, makes for easier dipping). Take cold balls from freezer adn dip some of your balls in choc. and some in white choc. using a toothpick or something similar. Lay them back on wax paper, and when done dipping all the balls take a spoon and drizzle opposite color of chocolate on the balls, so drizzle white choc on choc. balls, and choc. on white choc. balls. Let stand until dry, about 10 minutes (enough to let outside dry, and inside melt) and serve! Yummy. It ususally takes a few times until they are "perfect". It is worth it! Oh, and if you decide to use the white choc. and color for a shower or anything you have to use oil food coloring, or it ruins the ability to dip pretty. Enjoy :-)

Back In Our Day......

MckLinky Blog Hop

Click here to enter your link in the blog hop and view the entire list of entered links...

(30 years later) "You think you have it bad? PLEASE! Back in our day we used to all 4 sleep in a full sized bunk bed on the weekends and watch movies on a 17" laptop."

A little background. We have 5 kiddos, 4 of which are old enough to either have pallet night or bunk in the boys room on the weekend. We only have one t.v. in our house, purposely, so it is a treat for them to watch a movie on the computer in their room. Usually we hook it up to our projector and watch it on the wall, but it was at our church. Anyways, I walked in and saw them all sitting there so nicely, getting along, and loving each other, so I had to go back and grab my camera. I couldn't believe they were still there like that! I love seeing the children like this, it will be good memories for sure :)

Passport to the Promise Land

This years VBS theme was Passport to the Promise Land. We averaged in the middle forties most every night. Our offerings went to a little girls orphanage in Africa.

Below you can see each of our children enjoying a once in a life time experience of riding a camel bareback!

We had a lot of fun with puppets, arts, crafts, singing and other fun activities.

I was so glad that Elijah was able to sit in classes this year! Those of you that know him know this is a great accomplishment!

Helping to Introduce McLinky

There’s a great new “linky” service available and I wanted to let you know about it. It’s called “MckLinky” – http://www.mcklinky.com/. After realizing the need for a new, reliable link-list capability, Brent Riggs and MckMama got together to create a free, easy to use linky service for all their blog friends.

MckLinky is a free links list feature that allows you to do include lists of other blog links like MckMama does on Not Me Monday. Some people call them “carnivals” or “memes” but you can use MckLinky any time you want your blog readers to leave a list of links on your blog. It’s simple, reliable and free.

Check it out here: http://www.mcklinky.com/
MckMama is running the contest here: http://theblogfrog.com/psearch/ViewThread.aspx?threadID=905&blogID=104191

Have a Wonderful Birthday in the Arms of Jesus Kayleigh Anne

pink and brown polka dot cake

Many of you will recognize the name Kayleigh Anne Freeman because you either follow her blog or from the many prayer requests sent out for her and her family. Today would of been her 1st birthday.

Please pray for Aimee, Adam, Brandon and Allyson as they celebrate Kayleigh's life. It was such a miraculous life that brought so many people closer to the Lord. Kayleigh blessed so many people in her short 10 months of life here on earth, and is missed very much.

I am glad that I was able to "be with them" in their journey, since about 20 weeks gestation. I remember reading the blog right after Kayleigh was born, like it was yesterday. I remember feelings of thankfulness, joy, laughter, hope, heartache, and loss. Her time here on earth was not in vain. God used her to do so much, I am so thankful that Adam and Aimee sought God and chose life, so that Kayleigh could fulfill God's purpose in her life and theirs.

Thank you Adam and Aimee for sharing her story. I pray that God gives you peace and comfort this day, knowing that she is with Him. We love you and continue to pray for your family. God be with you.

Kayleigh, we miss you dearly here on earth and wish we could celebrate with you, but our time has not yet come. Have a wonderful birthday in the arms of Jesus :)

Happy Fathers Day Daddy :-)

Father's Day Prayer

Lord,

Please bless our fathers, these men who mean so much to us, who are greatly responsible for who we are and who we are becoming.
Bless them for having the courage to do what's necessary to keep us out of trouble, for making us do the right thing, for helping us build our character, even when it makes us angry; and bless them for pushing us to do our best, even when they just want to love us.
Bless our fathers for being our protectors, for leading us through stormy times to safety, for making us believe that everything will be all right and for making it so.
Bless our fathers for quietly making a living to provide for those they love most, for giving us food, clothing, shelter and the other material things that really matter, for unselfishly investing time and money in us that they could have spent on themselves.
Bless our fathers, Lord, for saving some energy for fun, for leading us on adventures to explore the outer reaches of ourselves, for making us laugh, for being our playmates and our friends.
Bless them for being our secure foundation, our rock, for holding on tight to us...until it's time to let us go.Lord, bless these men we look up to,our role models, our heroes, our fathers.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

A gift to the "king" of all Daddies! We love you :-)

First and foremost I want to thank you for the wonderful family we have. We love you.

Secondly, I would like to thank you for my dishwasher! lol

The children would like to thank you to, for all the wonderful things you do.

Daddy,
We want to thank you for all the wonderful things you do for us and with us. You are a wonderful dad, and we are so glad God gave us to you. Thank you for teaching us to be Godly children, and to love our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Thank you for letting us help you work around the house.

Thank you for letting us help you work on the computer.

Thank you for taking the time to read us bed time stories when you are ready for bed yourself.

Thank you for helping to make our holidays special.

Thank you for making breakfast time special and cooking with us.

Thank you for just being silly with us sometimes :)

Thank you for all that you do daddy, we love you.

Here are a few pictures of Dacia and Rylie making Fathers Day gifts at the Y.

We celebrated Fathers Day on Friday with Jason because he was going to be out of town.
Here is a picture of the cake that Elijah stepped on when getting out of the car on Friday! That's okay though, it was still good ;)

Connor and Elijah decided they wanted to do sand art for a Fathers Day gift, so they made him these.

Lydia made him a tie and card. She made the tie at the Y and the card at home.

Dacia made him a "junk" box for home or office.

Connor even made a Dad sign out of pipe cleaners for the door!

On a more serious note I would like to thank you for all that you do for us, for taking care of us and for loving the Lord. I want to apologize for focusing on the negative lately, I have seeked God's forgiveness, and now I seek yours. Please forgive me. I love you and do appreciate all the things you do for us and the Lord. I love you, til death do us part.

Happy Fathers Day to a wonderful father and husband. We are all very thankful for you. We love you!

Family Reunion 2009

We had a large family reunion on Saturday June 13th at Tim's (Jason's brother). We had a lot of family come as well as friends!

The kiddos were so excited to see Grandpa and Grandma! We usually stay with them when we go and visit family.

Jason is one of 7, there are 6 brothers, (Jim, Jeff, Tim, Jason, Cody, Lonnie) and a sister (Mechelle). So, needless to say, the reunions can get really big. This one was smaller than most, but a great reunion, no doubt!

It is tradition that the men play their guitars and Darla sings. This year we heard a lot of the young boys playing the guitars, they were really good, and none of them were 16 yet! Amazing talent!

We had a lot of fun visiting, eating and hanging out with friends and family we don't see often.

I was a little upset at the outcome and the amount of the pictures taken :( My camera had used all the battery power, and for some reason the pics we did take were dark.

However, we did get a good picture of the sister-in-laws! ( I was a little upset Jane decided to take it after I changed into my travel clothes! lol)

From left to right is: Erin, Heather, LaShonna, Nanny, Jane and Mechelle.

Of course, Nanny is not a sister-in-law, but gets around as good as any of us! She is the Grandmother of the brothers! She came here from England during the war. Sariah, I believe, is her 28th great grandchild....yes, I said GREAT grandchild!

The kids had a lot of options at the reunion, they could listen to live music, play on the giant trampoline, swing set, or play volleyball. However, they spent the whole day playing on this awesome water slide. Can you believe they got it on clearance at Wal-Mart for $350? We are going to keep an eye out for one ourselves at the end of this summer, it would be perfect for parties and church events!

Could you tell by my turned around picture I figured out how to rotate them? (lol) And it was so easy!

Anyway, we had a great time...Thanks everyone for the great reunion! We can't wait to see you again :)
